SafePing ("we," "our," or "us") provides a high-priority peer-to-peer notification application designed to facilitate critical emergency communications among designated trusted contacts. This Privacy Policy details the strict mechanisms governing how we capture, handle, transmit, and protect your information, engineered specifically to satisfy global standards including GDPR, CCPA, and App Store safety protocols.
1. Information We Collect and Receive
Because SafePing functions purely as an operational safety utility, we strictly limit data collection to essential functional variables required to maintain secure relays:
- Account Registration Data: Valid phone numbers, device tokens, and display profiles required to manage and secure user identities.
- Circle Network Graph: Contact identifiers explicitly designated and permitted by the user to execute direct ping delivery.
- Location Tracking Data: To support core safety features, SafePing requires access to your device's background location. However, this is never continuously logged on servers. Location coordinates are pulled locally on-demand and only transmitted when a user triggers or fails to respond to an explicit urgent check-in ping.
2. Purpose of Processing and Essential Disclosures
Our legal basis for processing data is your explicit, unambiguous consent, paired with the vital execution of core emergency communication features:
SafePing accesses background location data even when the application is closed or not in active use. This processing is strictly limited to the extraction of coordinates the exact instant you receive or fail to respond to an urgent check-in ping, transmitting those coordinates directly to your approved network. We do not maintain historical tracking maps, nor do we sell or disclose location footprints to third-party data handlers or monetization entities.
Device Notification Override: Our app leverages high-priority push gateways to deliver audio cues that override system focus configurations. No private audio snippets, meeting ambient notes, or device logs are parsed, processed, or recorded by our platform during this sequence.
3. Data Retention Policies
We employ a strict data minimization schedule to guarantee that your emergency communication traces do not remain accessible on servers:
Direct ping records, confirmation statuses ($S_{safe}$), and temporary geolocation metrics are cleared automatically from operational relays within $T = 24$ hours of delivery confirmation.
This 24-hour purge is hardcoded in our server database layers and triggers automatically without user action, minimizing corporate data footprints and protecting private records.
4. Global Compliance Frameworks (GDPR & CCPA)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you retain the right to access, delete, restrict, or port any personal operational indicators we hold.
To request an immediate account delete or export your circle network data, you can do so directly in the application settings or contact our support team at support@safeping.io. Any data purge requested by the user is processed instantaneously across all operational relays.
